WELCOME TO THE NEW HOME OF PIANO PRODUCTIONS PRESS!

Piano Productions, Inc. is proud to celebrate its 20th season by launching a publishing wing, Piano Productions Press. Piano Productions Press (PPR) has researched multi-piano works internationally, unearthing many out-of-print and unavailable scores. These and PPR original commissions form just a part of the new PPR catalog. Thanks to an historic collaboration with the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, PPR now has the rights to publish the legacy of the First Piano Quartet (FPQ) of early NBC Radio fame.

The FPQ, on the radio for 12 years, touring and recording for another 10, transcribed over 400 well-known works for four pianos-eight hands. Piano Productions Press, publishing piano music only with multi-hand works a specialty, revives a significant part of the First Piano Quartet library, with more to come. PPR now publishes this unique collection exclusively, with the generous collaboration of the NYPL, making this historic archive available to the public for the first time.

The featured launch publication is the humorous, Classical Cocktail No. 5, created by the FPQ. Like all the other cocktails, this one is a short, witty fantasy incorporating several tunes by several composers. Other publications showcased are the solo piano Streetsyncs: Eleven Ragtime Pieces by the late Indiana composer, Garland Anderson; a new version of Amazing Grace arranged for 2 pianos-4 hands by New Jersey composer, Tony Finno, and Shane Cadman’s The Noise of a Multitude, for 1 piano-18 hands.

Elizabeth Carder and John Kozar created Piano Productions, Inc. in 1990 as a 501/c/3, not-for-profit, whose sole educational mission is to promote knowledge and appreciation of the acoustic piano and piano music, through performance, recording and publishing.

The editors of Piano Productions Press wish you and your students many hours of piano enjoyment.
